Operation Cast Lead

To tell the truth, reading youtube comments can be very disturbing. I looked up some IDF videos-- and ended up watching a bunch of the related videos too-- and the comments that people write are ridiculous.
Some of the comments are really just your average fed-up web-surfers expressing their frustration. They'll write general statements like "it's not your country", or "all palestinians are willing to give up their lives", or "you have no heart", or "shut up you f*cking b*tch", or telling other commenters that they are "ignorant". People get into horrible arguments online, but you can't really argure in these cases because you never get anywhere: the commenters are just expressing emotion, and the likelyhood is-- no amout of persuation is going to change how they feel. Hey, it's really great that people have the oppertunity to express themselves and all that, but these comments annoy me because they result in just more anger and hatred. I don't think any good can come of them.
Some of the comments state facts-- generally in order to support or diss either side of the conflict. But it's funny, really, because one comment can't have all the facts in it, so the author is choosing which facts to write, so it's going to be biased, so how can it prove any sort of truth? And that's assouming that all the stated facts are true. Or forget that-- even a "true" fact can change-- depending on how you word it. So you end up with a list of historical facts-- interpreted by the writer, or a list of numbers (of people killed etc..)-- which takes into consideration the value of life, but not much else.
I guess youtube comments are not the place to look if you want to join a political discussion.
Maybe someday there will be a soloution to the political problems and we wont have to continue stirring this same old dirt.
