Sad News

We got out math tests back yesterday. This is sort of a big deal because this is the first grade that will be in our tzi'un shnati. Naturally, this means we're gonna care about every point, and here's a piece of conversation I thought might explain what I mean:
Tova to Chana: "How much did you get?"
Chana: "99"
Tova: "Nice!!"
Chana: "And you?"
Tova, in a pretty dissapppointed voice: "98."

Hey, u might as well aim 4 a perfect score-- if she got a 98, she's probably able 2 get 100, so why shouldn't she be disappointed?

Alina, you say "why shouldn't she be disappointed if she was aiming for an 100?" Well I want to say a few things: First of all, there are 100 digits between 1 and 100 (no shit) and anyway to get all of 98 of those points is such an amazing thing. Number two, in the overall score of their entire teudat bagrut the difference it makes if you get a 98 and not an 100 is so minor that anyone who thinks it's bad is really selfish. And third of all, it's a big arrogant to say that 98 isn't good enough... You know that people would die to get a 98 and even ppl who are doing 5 yechidot math.

That's it I think it's ridiculous.
